21ste Suidoosterfees wag produksievoorstelle in 

Die Suidoosterfees word in 2024 mondig en vind van 26 April tot 1 Mei in Kaapstad plaas. Die organiseerders is vuur en vlam om dié mylpaal in die fees se geskiedenis onvergeetlik vir feesgangers en besoekers te maak.

Produksiehuise en teatergeselskappe kan nog tot 22 September 2023 voorstelle vir aanbiedings op die feesprogram maak. Riglyne en aansoekvorms is op suidoosterfees.com beskikbaar en moet die fees teen 22 September om 12:00 bereik. Aansoekers sal teen 20 Oktober in kennis gestel word of voorstelle suksesvol was.

Die Suidoosterfees se aktiwiteite gee gestalte aan prof. Jakes Gerwel, een van die stigterslede, se visie om ’n “soomlose kunstefees in ras, kultuur, klas, geloof en taal, met ’n fokus op Afrikaans, vir jonk en oud” daar te stel. Met die oog hierop sien die organiseerders uit na opwindende produksievoorstelle wat feesgangers sal vermaak, meevoer en lank sal bybly.

                                          Jana Hattingh, die fees se uitvoerende hoof, sê: “Dit is met vreugde en groot opgewondenheid dat ons die 21ste feesjaar tegemoet gaan. In sy bestaan het die fees gegroei tot ’n instelling wat topvermaak na Kapenaars en besoekers vanoor die hele land bring, en met gevestigde mentorskappe en ontwikkelingsprojekte reeds ’n enorme verskil gemaak het in kunstenaars se lewens en loopbane.”

Suidoosterfees awaits production proposals for 21st festival

In 2024 the Suidoosterfees will be presented in Cape Town for the 21st time, from 26 April to 1 May. The organisers are excited to celebrate this milestone in the festival’s history, offering festivalgoers and visitors a memorable experience.

Production houses and theatre makers are welcome to submit proposals for shows until 22 September 2023. Guidelines and application forms are available at suidoosterfees.com and must reach the festival by 12h00 on 22 September. Applicants will be informed by 20 October whether submissions were successful.

Festival activities are presented within the vision of Prof Jakes Gerwel, one of the Suidoosterfees founding members, to establish a festival that is “seamless regarding race, culture, religion and language, with the emphasis on Afrikaans, for people of all ages.” With this in mind, the organisers are looking forward to creative and innovative production proposals that will resonate with audiences.
