’n Storie oor belonging. Deur dans en beweging trek sy journey hom van nou af terug na toe – deur oppression, expression, darkness into light as he learns to move to the beat of his own drum. Hoe gaan hy die ancient call vannie ghoema antwoord?
A story about belonging. Kenan stands on a threshold. His people whisper what he must be, but inside him burns another rhythm – the voice of his dreams that can only be heard when all falls silent. He carries the heavy stories of his ancestors in his body: every step weighted with pain, every breath a reminder of a history of oppression. Through dance he begins to move through time – from darkness to light, from captivity to freedom. How will he answer the ancient call of the ghoema?

We stand still, caught in the spectacle of others’ downfall. We watch, often without intervening, and in doing so become complicit in the very systems that sustain pain and injustice. We judge. We share. But we do not act. We do not change. We remain pillars of salt – petrified by fear, shame and the comfort of conformity.

Belop, a young fisherman living in a world where tradition matters most, dreams of being able to fly. In a village where the sea shapes who you are, there is no place for those who are different.
