Semifinaliste vir die Suidoosterfees se Talentsoektogkompetisie vir die 2024–2025-seisoen is aangewys en het die afgelope naweek reeds hul eerste slypskool bygewoon waar hulle deur kenners in die vermaakbedryf onder hande geneem is.
Die slypsessie is op 30 November by die Dance For All-skool in Athlone, een van die kompetisievennote, aangebied. Allison Hendricks, hoof van die dansskool, en die teatermaker Rafiek Mammon het deelnemers van raad en leiding voorsien.
The semi-finalists for the 2024–2025 season of the Suidoosterfees Talent Search competition have been announced, and candidates already attended their first workshop where they received guidance from experts in the entertainment industry.
The workshop was held on 30 November at Dance for All in Athlone, one of the project partners. Allison Hendricks, head of the dance school, and theatre maker Rafiek Mammon provided advice to candidates on how to refine their performance skills.

Altesaam 30 kandidate is vir die semifinale ronde gekeur nadat ’n magdom inskrywings deur hoopvolle amateurs van oral in die Wes-Kaap ontvang is. Deelnemers van so ver as George en Oudtshoorn ding mee in dans, sang, instrumentele musiek en skerpskets-komedie om in aanmerking te kom vir die Suidoosterfees se Talentsoektog-kroon en gesogte pryse.
Die algehele wenner, wat tydens die fees in 2025 aangekondig word, ontvang R10 000 en sal genooi word vir ’n gasverskyning in kykNET se gewilde sepie Suidooster. Die belowendste danser wat deelneem, kwalifiseer vir ’n beurs om vir ’n jaar te studeer aan Dance for All. Naaswenners kry ook kontantpryse.
Thirty candidates were selected for the semi-finals from entries by talented amateurs all over the Western Cape. Entries were received from as far as George and Oudtshoorn in the categories for dance, singing, instrumental music and stand-up comedy.
The overall winner, to be announced at the Suidoosterfees in 2025, will receive a cash prize of R10 000 and an invitation to make a guest appearance in the popular kykNET soapie Suidooster. The most promising dancer will stand a chance to receive a bursary for one year’s free training at Dance for All. Runners-up will also receive cash prizes.

In die dans-afdeling van die kompetisie het die volgende individue en groep die semifinale gehaal: Cara Anne Slabber, Cassidy Caroline Africa, Lerato Mapfuno, Mieke Chrissie Carr, Peter-John Reid, Shaela Heystek, Sorien Rossouw, Theodore Tankiso Qota, Zelnia Scholtzen, en die MoveMakers, ’n groep van 18 tienerdansers.
Belowende sangers wat beoordelaars met hul stemme beïndruk het, is Chadwin Bagley, Chandré Matthee, Darryn Peterson, Frederico Fortuin, Kayla Pienaar, Liam Fredericks, Malakai Jooste, Nicole Chanel Hoofd-Simons, PJ Durr, Saskia Dominique McDilling, Venessa Kraukamp, Wilton Franse, en die sangpaar Izalde en Norihanna Sekoo.
Die sang-kategorie was gewild onder amateur-rymkletsers, en die volgende semifinaliste is gekeur: Ashton Rass, Bradwin Jonas, David Godfrey Collins, Jason Baartman, Manasse Gorgio Pienaar en Nashiefa Jappie.
The following individuals and group qualified for the dance category of the Talent Search: Cara Anne Slabber, Cassidy Caroline Africa, Lerato Mapfuno, Mieke Chrissie Carr, Peter-John Reid, Shaela Heystek, Sorien Rossouw, Theodore Tankiso Qota, Zelnia Scholtzen and the MoveMakers, a group of 19 teenage dancers.
Judges were impressed by the following promising singers: Chadwin Bagley, Chandré Matthee, Darryn Peterson, Frederico Fortuin, Kayla Pienaar, Liam Fredericks, Malakai Jooste, Nicole Chanel Hoofd-Simons, PJ Durr, Saskia Dominique McDilling, Venessa Kraukamp, Wilton Franse, and the duo Izalde and Norihanna Sekoo.
Amateur rappers also entered the singing category in droves, and the following semi-finalists were selected: Ashton Rass, Bradwin Jonas, David Godfrey Collins, Jason Baartman, Manasse Gorgio Pienaar and Nashiefa Jappie.

Aaron Chilcott neem deel in die intrumente-afdeling en Elizabeth Marais is die kandidaat vir skerpskets-komedie.
’n Opvolgwerkswinkel word op 15 Februarie 2025 in Athlone vir finaliste aangebied voordat die halfeindonde op 14 Maart 2025 in die V&A Waterfront plaasvind. Die luisterryke finale ronde, waar wenners aangewys word, vind tydens die Suidoosterfees van 30 April tot 4 Mei 2025 in Kaapstad plaas.
Aaron Chilcott qualified for participation in the instrumental category, and Elizabeth Marais for the stand-up comedy section.
A follow-up workshop will be presented on 15 February 2025 in Athlone, before the next competition round on 14 March 2025 at the V&A Waterfront. The spectacular final round where winners will be crowned, will take place during Suidoosterfees in Cape Town from 30 April to 4 May 2025.
